METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos will look into the annual audit report of the Commission on Audit (COA) which stated that the agency failed to complete over P3-billion worth of flood and traffic control projects in 2020.

Abalos, who acknowledges the observations of the COA on its 2020 Annual Audit Report, said he only took over the reins of the agency last January. Still, he said he will summon all those involved in the projects mentioned on the COA report and have the matter thoroughly investigated.

Since Abalos assumed office, he already mandated contractors to speed up completion of all works and projects, so as not to waste the funds allotted in it.

The COA report indicated that the agency failed to complete over P3-billion worth of flood and traffic control projects in 2020 due to several causes, including the imposition of lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
