MJ worth P40.78M destroyed in Kalinga
KALINGA — Authorities destroyed more than P40.7 million worth of marijuana plants in three sites at around 8 a.m. on Thursday until 8:00 a.m. of Sunday (May 6-9 2021) in Chumanchil, Bgy. Loccong, Tinglayan in this province.
Kalinga Police Provincial Director PCol. Davy Vicente M. Limmong, in his report to Regional Office-Cordillera Director PBGen. Ronald Oliver Lee, Tuesday said operatives led by PLt. Col. Elmo Aspilan, PDEU, PLt. Col. Raymond C. Nicolas (OIC) SOU1, PLt. Col. Christopher Rey P. Natnat SOU14 conducted the marijuana eradication operation.
A total of 88,400 fully grown marijuana plants were planted on three sites which have a total land area of 8,900 square meters. Seized were 165 dried marijuana leaves, 60 kilos of marijuana seeds and 15 kilos of marijuana stalks with an overall standard drug price of P40,780,000.
