MIMAROPA cops haul 15 wanted men to jail

FIFTEEN wanted persons in MIMAROPA (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) region were arrested by agents of the Police Regional Office 4-B in a string of manhunt operations this week, PRO4-B director Brig. Gen. Joel B. Doria on Wednesday said.

According to Doria, 10 of the suspects were nabbed last Monday while the five were caught on Tuesday.

He said that two of those arrested last Monday were Rogel Obra, 37; and Arnel San Juan, 34, respectively listed as the 7th and 5th most wanted persons in MIMAROPA and both facing non-bailable offenses

Obra, the subject of a warrant of arrest for statutory rape, was tracked down in his hiding place in Bgy. Panitian in Sofronio Española, Palawan while San Juan was caught in Bgy. Tawiran in Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro.

San Juan is the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Calapan City RTC Branch 40 while Obra was ordered arrested by the Puerto Princesa City RTC Branch 47.

The eight others who were apprehended on the same day were Toribio Mateo, 40, wanted for cattle-rustling; Rolando Brita, 56, and Jonathan Largueza, 42, both wanted for violation of Presidential Decree 1829 or obstruction of apprehension and prosecution of criminal offenders; Erichson Mendoza, 32, wanted for attempted homicide; Eugene Larangjo, 32; wanted for violation of the Anti-Forestry Law; Christian Ignacio, 22, wanted for acts of lasciviousness; and Norman Silorio, 36, and Rosel Ilao, 50, both wanted for violation of RA 9262 or the Anti-Women and Children Violence Act.

On Tuesday, PRO4-B operatives also captured Victor Aragon, 32, the no. 1 most wanted person in Calabarzon region during an operation in Bgy. 2 Poblacion in Romblon, Romblon.

The suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 issued by the Sta. Cruz, Laguna RTC Branch 28.

Also arrested on the same day were Benjun Salome, 52, a man wanted for estafa; Nicolas Matining, 49, wanted for attempted homicide; Jovert Padilla, 53, wanted for two counts of violation of RA 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law; and Marichu Pacaldo, 31, wanted for estafa through falsification of public documents.
