LAS PIÑAS CITY – Mayor Imelda “Mel” Aguilar and daughter Vice Mayor April Aguilar took their oath of office at the Mayor’s office on Thursday.

The mother and daughter tandem were sworn into office by Las Piñas Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Elizabeth Yu-Guray, together with the winning councilors who won in the recent May 9 national and local elections.

Mayor Aguilar will be rendering her services to the constituents for the third and last term as the city chief executive.

She vowed to continuously serve her constituents “even better” through the “Tuloy ang Tapat at Progresibong Serbisyo” program.

The mayor said that in her last term as the city chief executive, she will focus more on health services, especially administering vaccines to protect city residents in the fight against COVID-19.

Mayor Aguilar likewise expressed optimism that elected councilors through the City Council under the leadership of Vice-Mayor April will work harder and continue to pass resolutions and ordinances to make the city more “progressive and for the betterment of the city residents.”

She added that the services and programs her administration had previously initiated will continue but needs to double the efforts for more improvement that will benefit the Las Piñeros.

In taking their oath of office before Executive Judge Guray, the Aguilars were joined by District 1 Councilors Mark Anthony G. Santos; John Jess Anthony C. Bustamante; Felimon A. Aguilar III; Rex H. Riguiera; Oscar C. Peña, and Florante S. Dela Cruz.

Also, District 2 Councilors Henry C. Medina; Luis I. Bustamante; Ruben C. Ramos; Lord Linley R. Aguilar; Danilo V. Hernandez, and Emmanuel Luis C. Casimiro were formally swore in.
