Mark1Mark2Mark3MARK Anthony Fernandez has two new movies. One is the sexy suspense-thriller, “Ganti-Ganti”, to be shown on Vivamax starting December 1. Then there’s the comedy-drama, “Para Kang Papa Mo”, to be shown in theaters nationwide on December 13.

So how is he now? “Okay naman, steady lang,” he says. “I’m happy and busy with my work. Sunud-sunod ang projects ko sa Viva and I’m thankful to Boss Vic del Rosario dahil hindi ako nababakante nang matagal.”

What’s his role in “Ganti-Ganti”? “As the title says, it’s about revenge. The story is quite complex. Asawa ko rito si Angeli Khang and he hires Sean de Guzman para patayin ako. Pero maraming twists sa storytelling and you can never guess where it is going. This is directed by Mac Alejandre.”

How about his role in “Para Kang Papa Mo”? “It’s a story about a father and his son who turns out to be a transwoman. Kami ni Nikko Natividad play the lead roles here. Kasama rin dito ang mga kapwa ko Guwapings noong araw, Eric Fructuoso and Jao Mapa, sa direction naman ni Darryl Yap who I’ve worked with before in ‘Barumbadings’.”

Is it true Darryl wants Jomari Yllana, an original member of Guwapings, to be part of the movie but it didn’t push through because of a rift between him and Jom?

Nagkatampuhan lang naman kami, about four or five years ago.”

Who made “tampo” to whom? He called me up on the phone at nagkausap kami. We can work together.”

Viva billed him prominently in the poster of “Para Kang Papa Mo” and he feels grateful to Boss Vic for the importance they gave him.

While he was in prison, he learned that he had a son.

How about his lovelife? “Wala. Wala akong lovelife. Yung last one, nauwi sa hiwalayan. Maraming dahilan, e, but ang feeling ko, kailangang blessed talaga muna ni Lord ang isang relationship para mag-work. Kailangan, sentro nyo si Lord at kapag na-bless kayo, go!”

“Para Kang Papa Mo” will be shown in theaters starting December 13. Also in the cast are Zeus Collins, Kid Yambao and Ruby Ruiz.
