CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Members of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) on Friday arrested a motorist in possession of an unlicensed firearm at a police checkpoint in Bulacan.

In a report to Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., RMFB3 Commander Lt. Col. Jay Dimaandal, said the suspect, 42, of Barangay 396, Tayuman, Manila, was onboard a motorcycle when flagged down by joint checkpoint team of 301st-RMFB3, RSOG3, and the Meycauayan City police on MacArthur Highway, Bgy. Saluysoy in Meycauayan, Bulacan.

When asked to show pertinent documents, the suspect opened his motorcycle compartment, and in plain view, authorities saw a .38 revolver and six live bullets.

However, the suspect could not present the firearm’s legal documents.

Dimaandal said the suspect will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

“We have been continuously beefing up our aggressive drive to recover and to seize loose firearms. May this serve as a stern warning to all, especially those who have not yet renewed their licenses or turned over their undocumented firearms in their nearest police stations for safekeeping. Stricter penalties are imposed against violators,” Hidalgo said.
