A 29-YEAR-OLD construction worker was found dead by his co-worker Monday morning in Navotas City.
Navotas Police Chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging said the lifeless body of Jimruz Abetsuela, a native of Camarines Norte, was discovered by his co-worker Kyle Jetrick Dela Cruz, 19, Time Keeper, at around 8:00 a.m. lying in a prone position with blood from his head on the ground floor of a house under renovation at Sioson St. Brgy. Bangkulasi.
Dela Cruz immediately sought the assistance of barangay officials, who later reported the incident to Navoitas City Police.
Homicide investigators P/SSgt. Levi Salazar and P/SSgt. Reysie N. Peñaranda said that earlier, Abetsuela and Dela Cruz, both stay-in workers, engaged in a drinking spree on Sunday at 10:00 p.m. that lasted up to 1:00 a.m. the following day.
Dela Cruz told investigators that he had last seen the victim alive around 1:00 a.m. before he went to sleep while holding his cellular phone on the balcony.
When he woke up at 6:30 a.m., he was surprised to see Abetsuela lying face down on the ground floor with blood oozing from his head.
Ollaging said the victim’s body was subjected to an autopsy examination to determine the cause of his death, pending further investigation of the incident.
