Lineman dies from electrocution in Naic

After generator was accidentally turned on

NAIC, Cavite – A lineman died after being electrocuted after a resident accidentally turned on a generator, causing electricity to flow to the wire where the victim was working, Monday, November 28, 2022, in Barangay Malainen Bago, here.

Authorities said the victim was a 31-year-old lineman and resident of Bgy. Timalan Balsahan Naic, Cavite.

The police are looking for the suspect who opened the power generator, a resident of NIA Road Bgy. Malainen Bago Naic Cavite.

Naic police said that at 10:15 a.m., the victim was repairing wirings in the electric post along the NIA road in the said area, and the electrical connections were temporarily turned off.

According to the contractor of Aveco Electric Contractor Corp., at the said time, the lineman was on top of the pole and was repairing and removing old wires, so they temporarily removed the electrical connections.

However, a resident of the said area suddenly opened the power generator, causing a freak accident.

The victim was rushed to the San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital Naic but was declared dead on arrival.

Police are conducting hot pursuit operations to arrest the suspect.
