“PARA akong na-hazing sa loob ng lima’t kalahating taon.”
This was how Vice President Leni Robredo described her experience.
“Para akong na-hazing.I was voted out of two government positions.I never intended to run for Presidential elections,” she said answering querries on the hardships she is facing now that she is running for the highes position of the government.
Robredo cited her short stint as the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) in 2016 and co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) in 2019.
The Vice President admitted that because of the current situation of the country, she was aggressive to have unification talks between all administration forces.
“I was so active in trying to do unification talks because I felt like it could have been the best opportunity, best solution for anti-admin forces,” she explained.
But when unification talks collapsed, she has finally decided to run for the Presidential elections.
Robredo admitted that her fight is not easy especially now that she is running as independent candidate.
However, she stressed that the situation is not new to her stating that when she fought against political dynasty when she ran for representative of her province.
