LAKAS-CMD President and Majority Leader Martin Romualdez said the party will campaign harder in the next two months for vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Romualdez said the party will highlight more her qualifications and platforms of government to sustain if not widen her lead in various poll surveys.

Romualdez, one of the two campaign managers of Duterte and Lakas-CMD president, stressed this after the lady mayor remained in the Tangere survey as the country’s top choice for voters with 56.63 percent preference.

He welcomed the results of the latest survey and thanked Filipinos for their support and continuing trust in Duterte, Lakas-CMD chairperson.

“This is a manifestation of the voters’ support for Mayor Sara, their validation of her skills, competence and expertise in leading the country as next vice president,” Romualdez said.

Based on the survey, Mayor Sara has maintained her position as the top vice presidential choice for Filipinos but has even widened her lead over rivals.

“Like Mayor Duterte, presidential candidate former Sen. Bongbong Marcos remains to be the candidate to beat. We will continue to work harder and ensure that we will sustain if not widen the lead of the BBM-Sara tandem,” Romualdez said.

Davao del Sur Gov. Claude Bautista is also Duterte’s campaign manager representing the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP).

The March 1-4 Tangere survey of Manila Bulletin which was participated by 2,400 adult respondents through mobile app showed Mayor Sara gaining up 3 percent in voters’ acceptance compared to the results of the same survey last month.

Twelve percent from Metro Manila; 20 percent from the Visayas, 23 percent from Mindanao, 23 percent from Northern and Central Luzon; and 22 percent from Southern Luzon and Bicol region made up the 2,400 respondents.

In the February 10-12 Tangere survey, which was also participated by the same number of respondents, Mayor Sara got a 53.63 percent voter preference compared with 15.5 percent of Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III who was in second. In third was Dr. Willie Ong with 15.42 percent.

In the March survey, Mayor Sara has 56.63 percent voter preference while Sotto has 16.08 percent and Ong with 14.17 percent.
