Laguna prison escapee injured in manhunt
A PRISONER who escaped from the Laguna Provincial Jail in Sta. Cruz, Laguna was nabbed again in a dragnet operation.
The prisoner was injured after being shot by responding members of the Laguna Provincial Jail when he was about to be arrested in Bgy. Labuin, Pila Laguna.
The suspect, injured, tried to escape using a motorcycle and fled towards Victoria, Laguna, on Sunday morning.
Laguna Provincial OIC (Officer-in-Charge) Director P/Col. Cecilio Ison Jr. said the prisoner sustained a gunshot wound in his body when caught by members of Calauan Police in Bgy. Dayap, Calauan town during the hot pursuit operation.
The suspect, who was jailed for a robbery case, was spotted in Bgy. Labuin when he was about to visit his brother-in-law – prompted the Pila Police to respond to the area and arrest the suspect immediately.
