Laguna, Iloilo City, CDO placed under ECQ
PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force to place Laguna, Iloilo City and Cagayan de Oro under Enhanced Community Quarantine starting August 6 until August 15.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Thursday made the announcement.
Laguna was the only province in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region placed under ECQ status due to COVID surge.
Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez said COVID cases in the province is now at a critical level.
He said public hospitals in Laguna province are already in full capacity due to increasing number of people catching the deadly virus.
Records showed Laguna has 17 cases of the highly-transmissible Delta variant.
Meanwhile, placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine from Aug. 6 to 15 were Cavite, Lucena City, Rizal and Iloilo province.
Batangas and Quezon are under General Community Quarantine with heightened restrictions.
