TWO vital cogs from newly-minted UAAP women’s volleyball champion La Salle and a Far Eastern University standout were acquired by F2 Logistics as it tries to elevate its level of play in the Premier Volleyball League.

Having played under coach Ramil de Jesus’ system will not be a problem for Cargo Movers mentor Regine Diego, as Jolina dela Cruz and Mars Alba will bring their championship pedigree to the decorated club.

“The transition from DLSU Lady Spikers to F2 Logistics Cargo Movers has always felt natural. Family is Home. This partnership has showcased a family oriented bond through out these years,” the team posted through its social media accounts.

Dela Cruz was one of Season 85’s Best Outside Spiker awardees, while Alba took home the Best Setter plum and the Finals MVP honor for helping the Lady Spikers claim their 12th UAAP crown.

“Marionne and Jolina, you guys are no longer different. This is just a traditional transition to join your ‘Ates’,” the club said.

Another Season 85 individual awardee, Jov Fernandez, was also signed by F2 Logistics.

A key player from the Lady Tamaraws’ major turnaround from a one-win team last year to a fifth place run in Season 85, Fernandez bagged the Best Opposite Hitter honors.

“Jovelyn, you are very welcome to this family. We are glad that a Lady Tamaraw has joined us,” the club said on Fernandez.

Dela Cruz’s offense will be a major boost for the Cargo Movers to lessen the burden for main gunner Myla Pablo, while Alba will be veteran playmaker Kim Fajardo’s understudy.

Playing in the same position with Kim Kianna Dy, Fernandez hopes to make an impression in her first conference with F2 Logistics.

Under Diego, the Cargo Movers reached podium for the first time in the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
