CAMILLE Victoria scored 17 points as Nxled survived a tough Capital1 stand in the third set to pull off a 25-13, 25-23, 25-22 victory in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference yesterday at the Philsports Arena.

“Yung ipinakita namin sa last set is more on puso. Kumapit kami sa isa’t isa,” said Ivy Lacsina, who scored 12 points for the Chameleons.

Nxled logged its fourth victory in 10 matches to tie with Akari in seventh spot.

The Solar Spikers, who dropped to 1-9 overall, had a chance to extend the match after leading by as much as nine points, 11-2, but the Chameleons showed discipline to fight back and complete the straight-set romp.

Aside from producing 14-of-28 kills, Victoria matched Krich Macaslang’s three blocks as Nxled tallied nine overall.

“Lycha Ebon had some issues, so we used Camille Victoria as an opposite hitter, and she received POG honors. We might make that choice again against PetroGazz,” said coach Taka Minowa.

Jho Maraguinot contributed eight points and seven digs while setter Kamille Cal tossed in 11 excellent sets for the Chameleons.

Des Clemente had a match-best four service aces to finish with 10 points while Jorelle Singh hammered eight kills for Capital1, which has lost seven in a row. Shirley Salamagos scored four of the Solar Spikers’ seven blocks.

Both teams will conclude their respective campaigns on Saturday at the same Pasig venue.

Nxled will take on Final Four-bound PetroGazz at 4 p.m., while Capital1 will face Cignal in a duel of also-rans at 2 p.m.

“This win will boost our confidence heading into that match,” said Minowa, who is on his second conference with the Chameleons.
