CHOCO Mucho remained on course for a second consecutive Finals appearance, as it firmly grasped control of the semifinal round of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena Thursday night.

“We are a solid team and we trust each other. Whatever may be lacking in our program and system, we support each other and work together, patiently persevering with each other,” said Royse Tubino, who has been solid in the Final Four for the Flying Titans.

After beating defending champion Creamline in the semifinals opener, Choco Mucho overpowered Chery Tiggo, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23, for a league-leading 2-0 record.

Tubino and Sisi Rondina and displayed their exceptional form once again, replicating their outstanding performances from the previous match against the Cool Smashers.

Together, they combined for 35 crucial points, proving to be pivotal in nailing another win over the Crossovers, whom they had previously defeated in the preliminary round.

Tubino, who took over in the third set, expressed the team’s focused mindset and resolve to give their best performance.

The former Perpetual standout, who contributed 17 points, including two blocks, underscored the team’s unity and trust in each other.

“Naka mindset kami sa game na ito na ibibigay namin ang best namin. Kailangan talaga naming manalo para mataas ang points namin para sa Finals,” said Tubino.

She also credited the team’s cohesive program and system, highlighting their collective effort and perseverance as key factors in their success.

Despite their current advantage, the Flying Titans must overcome another major obstacle to move closer in achieving their ultimate goal.

Up next for Choco Mucho is a duel with PetroGazz tomorrow at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, as its foes are aiming to rebound from a tough four-set loss to Creamline.

The Flying Titans are aiming for redemption after narrowly missing out on the title to the Cool Smashers in the previous conference.

Chery Tiggo, at 0-2, still has a slim chance of reaching the Finals as it needs to beat Creamline convincingly tomorrow, gain a triple tie at 1-2 and hope for the best in the points tiebreaker to earn a shot at a playoff for the remaining Finals berth.
