LYCEUM of the Philippines University tries to secure a second straight Finals appearance against Letran today in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre today.
The do-or-die step-ladder match is set at 2:30 p.m.

Three-peat seeking College of Saint Benilde completed a perfect 9-0 elimination round record to gain an outright passage to the best-of-three Finals.

The Lady Pirates, who were swept by the Lady Blazers in the Finals last year, hope to play better to extend their season.

LPU overcame a second set loss to eliminate Arellano University, 25-17, 24-26, 25-20, 25-19, to move up to the ladder last Sunday.

With decorated coach Oliver Almadro now at the helm, the Lady Knights reached the Final Four for the first time since they made it to the championship round in back-to-back seasons in 2011 and 2012.

The Lady Pirates need to summon all their experience in playing at this stage to advance to the Finals.

LPU hopes to avenge its 26-24, 20-25, 22-25, 22-25 defeat to Letran in their elimination round clash last April 30.

Game 1 of the Finals is set on 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the San Juan Arena.

Men’s titleholder University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, which also swept the single-round eliminations, will play the survivor of the step-ladder duel between Emilio Aguinaldo College and Letran in the best-of-three Finals.
