Kidnap victim found with throat slit
3 kidnappers arrested in Davao Oriental
JOINT police and military operatives arrested three men tagged in the kidnapping of three persons in Cateel, Davao Oriental.
Nabbed were Veloso Magquidong, 59, Joel Magquidong, 38, both of Bgy. Malibago, Cateel; and Franklin Medija of Ulip, Monkayo, Davao de Oro.
The three were accused of abducting Rosalie Sayman, Toting Salvana and Clember John Mendez, a minor.
Reports said the group released Salvana to produce P300,000 ransom money for the freedom of Sayman and Mendez.
Unknown to the suspects, Salvana sought the help of the police, who immediately conducted a rescue operation.
In a remote area in Bgy. Malibago, officers found Sayman dead, with her throat cut. Beside her body was the bolo used in the killing. The suspects were no longer around.
It was learned that hours before the kidnapping, the minor was able to escape from their abductors.
Lawmen searched for the suspects and tracked them down in a nearby village in Cateel.
