ROSARIO, Cavite – Staying faithful to his campaign promises and “living up” to his oath of office as representative of the 1st District of Cavite, Congressman Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III’s first 100 days have been productive and promising as he reported via his official social media page on Monday.

The Cavite 1st district representative is indeed a “man of swift action”, committed to efficiently extending his services to his fellow Caviteños. Fulfilling his legislative agenda and primary duties as district representative, he was able to file 44 authored bills, 11 authored resolutions, and 34 co-authored resolutions.

He immediately set up satellite offices to provide essential support and services to his constituents in Rosario, Cavite City, Noveleta, and Kawit.

In the field of education, 12,000 college students received scholarship grants under his “Iskolar ng Bayan” program. Rep. Jolo also featured “Tulong Trabaho”, wherein 200 scholars have already graduated, and 300 are currently enrolled in various skills training and TESDA courses.

He was also extending free burial assistance to indigents. He was instrumental in the salary increase of minimum wage earners as one of his priorities to uplift the lives of Caviteños.

The Cavite solon highlighted health programs and services by conducting medical and dental missions benefitting 24,000 Caviteños through free medical check-ups and circumcision. Free wheelchairs were distributed to 300 senior citizens, and donated hospital beds to various hospitals in the 1st district.

Focusing on his political and sectoral affairs, Revilla was able to connect meaningfully with different sectors such as fisherfolks, urban poor, transport groups, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender), and civil society organizations. He also regularly conducts dialogues with barangay officials, including providing #JoloCakes during their birthdays.

Rep. Jolo is also on top of disaster preparedness and management efforts with the active involvement of Rescue 161 in District 1. Flood control projects are also in full swing with the improvement, rehabilitation, and construction of revetments, drainage, and canal.

Maintaining peace and order is also an utmost priority of the rookie 1st district representative as he is in close and constant coordination with the police and related agencies and instrumentalities, including the formation of D1 Multi-Agency Against Crime.

Caviteños in the first district will expect more from their representative as relevant infrastructure programs and projects are now ongoing and already in the pipeline.

These include District One Command Center, Kalayaan Hospital completion and conversion into District One Public Hospital, Cavite City Public Hospital, Corregidor rehabilitation, and Rosario Gymnasium. Jolo will also establish dialysis centers, improve parks and open/safe spaces, and construct new roads, thoroughfares, streetlights, and footbridges.

Rep. Jolo says that he is “optimistic” about Cavite first district – the first in the province in terms of providing the best for its constituents. “As their true and progressive representative, I will ensure that reform will immediately and strongly be felt by each and every Caviteño”, he added.
