Sikyu nabbed for ‘sextortion’
CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – A “sikyu” was arrested for robbery-extortion in a police entrapment in Lipa City, Batangas, the other day.
A report by Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) Officer-in-Charge (OIC) P/Col. Pedro D. Soliba or PRO-CALABARZON (Police Regional Office-Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Acting Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez, Jr., the suspect in a robbery-extortion, was identified as a security guard.
A complainant reported the situation of his sister to the authorities.
According to him, his sister, who was working abroad, and the suspect, her ex-boyfriend, frequently “threatened” her by posting nude photos and videos on social media if she did not send money to the suspect.
The police quickly conducted an entrapment operation regarding the complaint, resulting in the suspect’s arrest in line with receiving money.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were P1,000 and a Lenovo cellphone containing the nude photos.
Authorities are now preparing appropriate criminal charges to be filed against the suspect now in the custody of the Lipa City Police Station.
“I commend the operatives for the successful arrest of the suspect. We will keep on conducting entrapment operations to put these criminals in jail,” said Soliba.
