Jak perfect boyfriend for Barbie
JAK Roberto is said to be the perfect role model of a very supportive boyfriend. His girlfriend, Barbie Forteza, is in a very successful love team with David Licauco and it’s the first time the fans supported a new love team even if one of them is actually in a relationship with another partner. Doesn’t he get annoyed when some fans suggest that he should break up with Barbie so she and David can be together on and off cam? “No, I’m not annoyed, mas nalulungkot ako kasi ‘yung ibang fans parang sobrang pine-personal ang comments nila. Minsan, hindi na maganda ‘yung mga salitang pino-post nila. Siempre, inuunawa ko na lang po na kinikilig sila sa BarDa love team, pero sana, maintindihan din nila na trabaho lang po ‘yun at iba ang trabaho sa personal na buhay ng mga artista.”
He says he is happy for the BarDa love team after it clicked in “Maria Clara at Ibarra”. “Blessing po ‘yun at ngayon nga, may bago silang series na ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ at may bago pa silang movie. Six years na kaming on ni Barbie at never kaming nakialam when it comes to our careers. Pareho kami artista so alam naming kapag trabaho, trabaho ‘yun at kapag lovelife, iba rin ‘yun.”
He swears he never felt jealous or insecure and because of that, some folks say he is so cool. Anti-selos or selos memes started appearing after Barbie and he walked separately on the red carpet of the GMA Gala event last month to support Barbie’s tandem with David.
Jak proved to be a big sport and even did anti-selos dances with his co-stars in the new GMA series that starts this Monday, “The Missing Husband”. It was a hit to viewers and even Dennis Trillo did his anti-silos dance. Then he was invited to conduct ang anti-silos class at Jose Rizal University during an event of GMA Sparkle there.
Some folks post that if you are having feelings of jealousy at the moment, then you should get anti-silos classes and learn from no less than the anti-silos master himself of JRU or Jack Roberto University. The anti-silos dance is now trending on Tiktok, making Jak very popular.
Jak is also seen conducting the anti-silos face-to-face class to co-Kapuso stars Yasmien Kurdi, Rocco Nacino, Kristoffer Martin, Allen Ansay, Sofia Pablo, Cai Cortez and even his own sister Sanya Lopez.
So what is the secret of his long lasting relationship with Barbie even if fans are pushing her towards David? “Wala namang secret,” says Jak. “Basta hindi nawawala ‘yung trust and respect namin sa isa’t isa. Walang selos-selos, basta go, trabaho lang. We’re all professionals. David and I are friends and he’s very vocal in saying that he respects yung relationship namin ni Barbie and thank you for that.”
Despite this, some narrow minded BarDa fans continue to bash him. They say that they do not believe he doesn’t feel jealous, adding that the fact that he even went to Jose Rival University to promote his anti-silos club is proof of this.
“Naku, hindi naman po ako nagprisinta roon,” Jak says in defense. “Naimbitahan po nila ako kasi JRU nga ako at JRU rin sila. JRU is part ng NCAA games which is shown sa GMA. I went kasi part din po ‘yun ng promo ng show naming ‘The Missing Husband’. So, nagpunta po ako para pagbigyan ang request nila, say hi-hello and magpasaya sa kanila. When I did the signature anti-silos, talagang they cheered so loud, nakakatuwa.”
Has he talked about facing the altar with Barbie? “Siempre napag-uusapan, pero nothing serious po as of now. Kasi we’re both still so focused on our careers. Lalo si Barbie, tutok talaga siya sa career dahil gusto niya talagang magtagal sa industry, like Tita Gloria Romero. Ganun ang mindset niya. She just turned 26 lang naman noong July 31 so bata pa siya for us to start our own family.
That can wait pa rin po.”
