STARTING October 30, Intramuros will reopen its sites to the public, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced yesterday.

The Intramuros Administration (IA) said the public can visit again its museums, and indoor attractions as well as its open-air sites which are being used as venues for morning exercises exclusively for the vulnerable population.

“We wish to give our fellow Filipinos, especially those who belong to the vulnerable sector, a breathing, healing and comfortable space,” said Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo Puyat.

The vulnerable population, namely the senior citizens, persons with disability (PWD), pregnant women, and persons with health risks will be allotted two hours every Saturday from 8 AM to 10 AM, to do their morning exercises at Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego.

Through an advance ticket reservation system, vulnerable individuals who are fully vaccinated can avail of this exclusive arrangement.

“We see this as an opportunity for the vulnerable sector to enjoy the green spaces of Intramuros for their overall health and well-being. As we have recently welcomed visitors ages 18 to 65, we are making the place more inclusive by providing a dedicated period where our senior citizens, persons with disability (PWD), pregnant women, and persons with health risks can enjoy a time in Intramuros safely,” added Puyat.

The exclusive visit for the fully vaccinated, vulnerable population is open every Saturday, beginning on October 30 from 8 AM to 10 AM, and can booked through the following link: bit.ly/3ilptmu.
