Ilocos-Pangasinan police full alert for Semana Santa, summer vacation
POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-1 director Brigadier General Lou Evangelista on Saturday said they will go on full alert starting Monday to assure the public will be fully secured for the Semana Santa and summer vacation (sum vac).
According to the official, they have already implemented a comprehensive security plan to protect the public during the period.
“We anticipate a high volume of visitors and residents traveling back to their hometowns for the Lenten season,” he said.
Evangelista said he has established a PRO1 Regional Committee for Ligtas Sum Vac 2024 headed by deputy regional director for operations Colonel Emmanuel Reyes.
All four PRO1 provincial directors composed of Pangasinan PPO director, Col. Jeff E. Fanged, La Union PPO director, Col. Lambert A. Suerte, Ilocos Sur PPO director, Col. Darnel T. Dulnuan and Ilocos Norte PPO director, Col. Frederick E. Obar will assist Reyes, the PRO1 director said.
Evangelista said he has ordered the deployment of 2,707 PRO1 personnel across the region during the period.
The policemen will also be getting support from 201 members of different PNP National Operational Support Unit and 924 from the Reactionary Standby Support Force.
