HVT for illegal drugs in CV falls
ANOTHER “high-value target” (HVT) in Central Visayas was arrested by agents of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 in a buy-bust operation in Cebu City on Tuesday afternoon, PRO7 Director Brigadier General Anthony A. Aberin said yesterday.
In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., the official said the arrested suspect with the alias “EJ,” 35, a “habal-habal” driver, was from Barangay Bulacao, Pardo, Cebu City.
Aberin said undercover anti-narcotics officers of the Cebu City Police Office under Col. Ireneo Dalogdog arrested the HVT during an entrapment operation inside the Fernandez Compound in Banawa, Bgy. Guadalupe 3:35 p.m. Tuesday.
Police seized 34 plastic sachets of shabu weighing 650 grams worth P4.420 million and the buy-bust money.
The recovered pieces of drug evidence were placed under the safekeeping of the Regional Forensic Unit 7 while the suspect was detained at the Cebu City Police Station 9 lock-up facility.
Aberin said that the suspect will be facing non-bailable charges for the sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
