Hindi pagganti ni PBBM sa pambubully ng Tsina suportado ni Sen. Jinggoy
NANINDIGAN si Sen. Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada na tama ang desisyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na huwag gumamit ng dahas sa pamamagitan ng pagganti ng water cannon bilang tugon sa pambubully ng Tsina sa Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea.
“I express my solidarity with the President regarding his firm decision to abstain from employing water cannons or any other offensive weapons as a countermeasure against China’s persistent aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea.
Instead, it is our responsibility to remain steadfast in safeguarding our maritime and sovereign rights through a rules-based approach,” ani Estrada.
Para kay Estrada, maliwanag ang desisyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na pagpapakita na walang balak ang pangulo na dagdagan pa ang tensyon na nararanasan ngayon sa WPS sa kabila ng mga ginagawa ng Tsina sa atin.
Sinabi pa ng senador na suportado niya ang matigas na adhikain ng Pangulo na depensahan ang ating soberanya sa isyu ng WPS dahil maliwanag naman na kinatigan tayo mismo ng lumabas na arbitral ruling sa International community ng the Hague na pabor sa Pilipinas.
Pinaalalahan din ni Estrada ang Philippine Navy at Coast Guard na hindi dapat tumupi sa mga ipinakikita ng Tsina at bantayan ang ating karapatan gayundin ang ating karapatan sa WPS.
“Instead of resorting to retaliatory measures, we will assert our rights through diplomatic means. We have consistently filed diplomatic protests to address China’s aggression within our territorial waters.
“The position taken by the President demonstrates his dedication to upholding stability, diplomacy, and the long-term interests of our country.
Let us stand together in supporting our government’s principled approach. By following international norms and pursuing peaceful means, we can protect our maritime rights while avoiding unnecessary conflict,” sabi ni Estrada.
