VICE president-elect Sara Duterte dedicated her victory to those victims of terrorism, abuse, criminality and bullying.

In an interview following the proclamation, the next Vice President said she will work harder because Filipino voters gave her the opportunity to save lives.

During her campaign sorties, Duterte vowed to continue the programs of the Duterte administration on peace and order as well as on war on drugs.

“The opportunity to serve as vice president, I dedicate to Kean Gabriel, to Larry, to Jaren and Frederick and all those who passed because of terrorism, abuse, criminality and bullying,” the outgoing Davao City Mayor said.

On Wednesday night, the joint committee of the Senate and House, sitting as National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), proclaimed Duterte as winner of the 2022 national elections.

She got 32,208,417 votes as against closest opponent Sen. Francis Pangilinan’s 9,329,207.

Meanwhile, Duterte reiterated the importance of unity in governance as an approach to encourage Filipinos to support the new administration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The unity is the campaign slogan of the UniTeam of Marcos and Duterte.

“Magtulungan tayo para sa isang bayan na mapayapa at nagkakaisa. Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas. May God bless the Philippinesm” she added.

Before ending her statement, Duterte expressed gratitude to all the people behind the success of 2022 national and local elections.

She recognized the vital roles played by the Commission on Elections; teachers, uniformed personnel and the Congress for the generally peaceful and orderly election.

“Ang aking pagkapanalo ay panalo rin ng lahat ng tumulong, naniniwala at sumuporta sa akin,” she also said.

No family members were around during the proclamation of her vice presidential win, however, her political allies like House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Davao Oriental Rep. Claude Bautista were in full support of her. By Jester Manalastas
