GENERAL TRIAS CITY (GenTri), Cavite – Three of the 33 barangays here in General Trias have been added to the number of “drug-free barangays” of the said city as part of the country’s ongoing fight against drugs.

On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, the barangays of Santa Clara, San Gabriel, and Corregidor passed the evaluation of the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Deliberation facilitated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) held at the City Park function room in Barangay San Juan 1.

While the local authorities here under P/Lt. Colonel Marlo Solero continued their information drive in line with the “Drug-Free Home and Community Mobilization Program”.

Personnel of the General Trias City Police Office led by Police Chief Master Sergeant (PCMS) Rosana T. Jagmis posted drug-free home stickers at Wellington Subdivision, Bgy. Pasong Camachile 2, General Trias City, Cavite.

More than a thousand households have also been affected by the anti-drug sticker since it was launched in the city, which is estimated to put 120 in each house per month, according to PCMS Rosana T. Jagmis.

Under Mayor Antonio Ferrer and Congressman Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV, the local government supports such a program to curb drug addiction among young people in the locality.

Last July 2018, Bgys. Dulong Bayan, 1896, Bagumbayan, and Governor Ferrer were declared “drug-free” villages of PDEA.
