HUGPONG ng Pagbabago (HNP), the ruling regional party in Davao Region, has dominated the 2022 elections, with most of its candidates elected into office.

This year’s elections recorded 233 members from HNP winning elective posts from 412 candidates.

One of the proclaimed winners was Davao Occidental’s lone district Representative Claude Bautista, the HNP’s president.

The first time congressman has served the province as a two-term governor since 2016.

Davao de Oro’s (DdO) current Vice Governor, Maricar Zamora, has also successfully sealed her comeback as 1st district representative.

Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy, the party’s treasurer, will serve as DdO’s sixth Vice Governor.

Davao del Norte was also able to get back to its feet after a dominating number in its electoral posts.

Former City Councilor Oyo Uy is now the province’s new Vice Governor, while his father, who currently sits as the Vice Governor, won Tagum City’s mayoral race.

Second District Rep. Alan Dujali was re-elected for a second term.

Davao de Oro and Daveo del Norte both have seven HNP members out of ten winning members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

HNP members and allies in the Nacionalista Party (NP) also dominated the elections in Davao del Sur and Davao Oriental.

Voters have also elected HNP members in Davao City.

Reelectionists Representatives Paolo Duterte (1st District), Vincent Garcia (2nd District), and Isidro Ungab (3rd District) also won in their respective bid for a second term.

Sebastian Duterte also won as the city’s new mayor with a huge vote margin against his opponent.
