Ecija cops nab live-in couple for qualified rape
LICAB, Nueva Ecija — Police implemented Oplan Charlie manhunt operations and nabbed a live-in couple who have arrest warrants for two counts of qualified rape here on Saturday.
Town police head Major Melchor T. Pereja identified the arrested suspects as Jayson Corpuz, 37, vendor, and Anna Marie Laudencio, 38, both of Bgy. Poblacion Sur, this town.
The two were collared by virtue of arrest warrants for two counts of qualified rape issued against them by Guimba Regional Trial Court Branch 32 Judge Leo Cecilio D. Bautista on December 27, 2021 with no bail recommended.
Police authorities did not give other details of the case due to its sensitive nature.
“Arrest warrant na lang kasi ang dumating dito sa amin,” Patrolman Rodolfo told the Journal Group.
Pereja said the arrested suspects are now locked up in separate police detention cells here for proper disposition.
