DU30 endorses Palayan City mayor for Ecija gov
CABANATUAN CITY — President Rodrigo R. Duterte on Sunday endorsed the gubernatorial bid of Palayan City Mayor Adrianne Mae “Rianne” Cuevas in the May 9 polls in Nueva Ecija.
“As President, I endorse the candidacy of Adrianne Mae Cuevas running as governor of Nueva Ecija. I trust that her vision for the improved welfare of the constituency will help the government realize the mandate to serve the people with excellence and passion. May the upcoming elections become an opportunity for us to elect leaders that will chart our path towards progress and prosperity, vote for Rianne Cuevas,” the Chief Executive said.
The President’s announcement was posted in the Facebook page of the city mayor which already went viral as of posting time, having garnered at least 1.5k reactions, 72 comments, 590 shares and 8.3k views.
For her reaction, Cuevas thanked the President for his full support. She said: “Maraming-maraming salamat po Mahal na Pangulo sa inyong pagtitiwala at kapag ako po ay nagwagi ipagpapatuloy ko po sa aming lalawigan ang inyong mga programa kontra droga, kontra kahirapan at kontra corruption.”
Cuevas, elected as PDP-Laban’s national treasurer, who is now on her third and final term as city mayor is challenging re-electionist Gov. Aurelio “Oyie” Umali in the May 9 polls.
