SAN JOSE CITY – An accidental gun-firing by an alleged drunk man led to the wounding of two victims, one of whom was having a drinking bout with the suspect, police here said. The arrested suspect was identified as Edwin Dela Cruz, 61, separated, while wounded were Mark Santos, 34, and Benjamin Angeles, 27, all of the same barangay.

While having a drinking spree, the suspect drew out his gun and said he wanted to fire it. Angeles and a witness named Dina Abaya saw this and tried to grab it from the suspect’s hands, but it accidentally went off, hitting the right waist of Santos and the right leg of Angeles. The victims were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment and were discharged after medication. By Steve A. Gosuico
