DOT’s GCI highlights Cavite ‘eatstory’ tourism

THROUGH the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, the provincial government of Cavite joined the Department of Tourism Region IV-A (DOT R4A) in the assessment and calibration of tour packages of the “Cavite Eatstory Circuit” (History, Heritage and Culinary) recently.

The program aims to measure the readiness of tourism products and services and inspect the implementation of health and safety protocols in Tanza, Rosario, Noveleta, Cavite City, Kawit, Imus City, and Bacoor City, in line with the DOT R4A’s flagship program – The “Green Corridor Initiative” (GCI), for tourism recovery and response under the new normal.

The validation involved local tourism officers, representatives from different travel and tour associations in the province, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and other media outfits, the Office of Market and Product Development of DOT, and the Tourism Promotions Board.

They visited Calle Real Restaurant and Sta. Cruz Convent Museum in Tanza; Casa Hacienda de Tejero and Carm Foods Factory in Rosario; Malen’s Restaurant in Noveleta; San Roque Church, 13 Martyr’s Monument, and Muralla, Pat & Sam Delicacies and Pasalubong, and Baloy’s Bakeshop in Cavite City; Watercamp Resort, Hidden Tapsihan, St. Mary Magdalene Parish Church, and Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo in Kawit; Toclong 1st Multi-purpose Cooperative in Imus City for the actual demonstration of Imus longganisa; Cocina sa Garaje Gervasio, St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Padre Mariano Gomez Monument, Bahay na Tisa, and Original Digman Halo-Halo in Bacoor City.
