DR. Eric Domingo has resigned as Director General of the Food and Drug Administration.

Domingo confirmed that his resignation was effective Monday, Jan. 3 but said he did not have any specific reason for resigning.

“Wala naman dahilan. I think I did my part to help during the pandemic. I’m happy with that but now it is time to move on to other things,” he added.

The DOH Media Team told reporters that Dr. Oscar Guiterrez, the deputy director general of FDA, was appointed as the department’s officer-in-charge, replacing Domingo.

“Yes. We confirm the resignation of FDA Director General Eric Domingo. Dr. Oscar Gutierrez, Deputy Director General, FDA, was assigned as OIC,” read the statement.
