COMBINED agents of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Southern Police District (SPD) on Friday smashed a “crime gang” in Makati City with the arrest of four of its members, PNP-CIDG Director Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee said.

Arrested during the anti-crime operation at the Laperal Compound located along Bernardino Street in Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City were alias “Jaguar”; alias “Bokbok”; alias “Bojie”; and alias “Gagay”.

Lee said that members of the Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit (DFU) of the CIDG National Capital Region Field Unit (NCRFU) headed by Col. Hansel M. Marantan and the SPD under Col. Kirby John B. Kraft arrested the suspects past 12:00 a.m. Friday (Aug. 26, 2022).

Recovered were one unlicensed caliber .38 revolver with two live ammunition, six plastic sachets of shabu valued at P80,000, and the buy-bust money.

The official said that the suspects were believed to be members of the “Boyong Criminal Group” involved in gunrunning, robbery-holdup, and illegal drug trafficking activities in the southern part of the metropolis.

All are now under the custody of the PNP-CIDG, facing criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013, said Lee.
