Cops nab 2 for ‘vote-buying’ in Cavite
NAIC, Cavite – Two alleged operators of “vote-buying” were caught by local police here in an entrapment operation on the eve of election day, May 8, 2022, in Barangay Halang, Sunday.
The local police received numerous complaints regarding the rampant alleged vote-buying in the area.
Naic Police here immediately proceeded to the reported place, and upon arrival, two suspects, later identified as Noelito Mojica Perlas, 48, single, driver, and Remedios Sierra Tubal, 58, widow, both are residents of Bgy. Halang, Naic, Cavite, were caught in the act while giving money to a crowd of people inducing them to vote for a particular candidate.
Furthermore, suspects were also found campaigning and giving the remaining election paraphernalia of a mayoral aspirant in the locality despite the lapse of the election campaign period.
Confiscated from their possession and control, 50 pieces of a white envelope containing P500 each, several sample ballots, lists of cluster leaders, and several election/campaign materials.
The suspects are now in the custody of Naic Municipal Police Station for investigation.
