Cops foil woman’s ‘death leap’ at NAIA
ALERT airport police personnel prevented a woman believed to have a mental problem from allegedy jumping to death at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA T-1).
Inititial reports by the PNP-Aviation Security Group said the unidentified woman caught their attention when she started shouting about her children while standing near the flagpole.
Airport authority said the woman would have plunged so,e 30 feet to her death had she not been rescued.
“Kung hindi po siya naagapan at nakatalon naku hindi natin alam kung ano ang nagyari sa kanya,” said airport police.
PNP-ASG Terminal 1 Head Chief Major Vic Peape said they grabbed thewoman while she was busy crying and shouting about her problems.
Peape said the woman was brought to the Pasay City hospital for medical examination then turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for custody.
NAIA Aviation Security Group rescued and secured the unidentified female tried to commit suicide by jumping in the NAIA T1.
