Cop accused of molesting boy, 15
While victim’s mom was preaching Word of God
A POLICE officer landed in jail after he was accused of sexually molesting a 15-year-old Grade 8 student in a small room outside Police Sub-Station-1 Tuesday in Las Piñas City.
Las Piñas police chief P/Col. Jaime Santos ordered the arrest of P/MSgt. Herminio Besmonte, assigned at the Police Sub-Station 1 and resident of Block 16 Lot 29 Phase 2 Adelina 2 Brgy. Luciano, Trece Martires, Cavite following a complaint lodged agains him by the 56-year-old mother of the alleged victim.
A report reaching the office of Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg showed that while the boy’s mother, a church pastor, was preaching the word of God to policemen at the Sub-Station 1 in Alabang-Zapote Viaduct at around 7 a.m, her son, who was with her, went outside the police station.
Besmonte allegedly followed the victim.
After a brief conversation, the suspect allegedly caressed the victim’s shoulder and chest down to his pants and mashed his private part.
The police officer allegedly asked the boy to follow him to a small room where the suspect supposedly removed the victim’s pants and performed oral sex.
When the boy and his mother went home after lunch, the alleged victim narrated his ordeal to his mother which prompted the latter to seek police assistance.
Col. Santos said aside from an administrative case, Besmonte will be facing criminal charges for alleged violation of R.A. 8353 or Sexual Assault and violation of R.A. 7610 or Special Protection Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
