TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Around 300 people, young and old, benefited from the Cavite Provincial Forensic Unit’s (PFU) “Forensic Kitchen” feeding program held in Barangay Hugo Perez here, Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Police Lt. Colonel Oliver Dechitan, Cavite Forensic Unit/SOCO (Scene of the Crime Operatives) chief, said the purpose of the “Forensic Kitchen” is to bring the good relationship with the members of the police closer to the community and also to show that their scene as law enforcement officers is not just a “crime scene”.

At the crime scene, Forensic Units/SOCOs are attaching “police lines”; in the feeding program, they are busy “securing” decorations and tarpaulins, and those in the area are not “Maritess” and “curious”, but children and parents who have benefited from the food and drinks handed out by the police.

In collaboration with some barangay officials and NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in the area, the forensic unit regularly conducts its feeding program weekly in the towns and cities in the province of Cavite.
