GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – In solidarity with the celebration of “World Rabies Day” on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the city government of General Trias and Barangay Bacao 2 held a “free” anti-rabies vaccination for pet dogs, cats, and presented an awareness program.

More than 200 residents of the said barangay and nearby villages with pet dogs and cats went to vaccinate their pets as responsible pet owners, organized by the General Trias City Agriculture Office.

Neri Marquez of the City Agri Office encouraged everyone to “be a responsible dog and cat owners, vaccinate the pets annually and register your respective pets at the City Agriculture or City Veterinary Office and [take responsibility] for the vaccination of the person bitten by any pet in compliance with RA 9482.”

In Cavite City, Mayor Denver Chua performed free anti-rabies vaccination and pet dog adoption at Samonte ark covered court in line with World Rabies Day with this year’s theme “One Health, Zero Deaths”.

In Bacoor City, anti-rabies vaccination was held at Molino 6 covered court as one of the highlights of Bacoor’s 351st foundation anniversary.

In General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), the free vaccination and rabies forum was held at Portal Mall.

Vaccination was also conducted in the towns of Carmona and Bailen, Cavite.
