TO address housing concerns for more than 20% of Caloocan residents, the city government, led by Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on Monday afternoon with the national government for the Pambansang Pabahay program.

Mayor Along conveyed his excitement regarding the project as it marks the start of Caloocan residents being prioritized in housing and resettlement programs.

The City Mayor likewise expressed his gratitude towards Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jerry Acuzar for choosing the city as one of the recipients of the Pambansang Pabahay.. Mayor Along vowed to continue the firm cooperation between the city and national governments for the benefit and welfare of Caloocan City.

“As we sign this Memorandum of Agreement for the Pambansang Pabahay, we are also marking a new era for Batang Kankaloos. An era where the national and local government are solid partners in prioritizing the welfare and betterment of our people,” the Mayor added.

DHSUD Secretary Jerry Acuzar congratulated the beneficiaries and affirmed the national governments commitment to make life easier for Filipinos.

The MOA signing was attended by Caloocan City District 1 Representative Cong. Oscar “Oca” Malapitan, as well as key officials from the DHSUD and PAG-IBIG including Undersecretary Avelino Tolentino, Assistant Secretary Marie Loys Ticman-Canson, and PAG-IBIG Chief Executive Officer Marilyn Acosta.
