THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) released a standing public advisory for the public and all its stakeholders that the Authority will never solicit goods and/or money from any private person or entity from its officials and personnel.

CAAP stated, “This is in light of reports received by the CAAP Management of such acts of solicitation by unscrupulous individuals using CAAP Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo’s name and giving out false bank information in soliciting for money.”

The Authority also said it “does not tolerate these acts and urges the public to report to our office any activities” so that appropriate criminal charges may be filed against the unscrupulous individuals. “We further urge the public to remain vigilant,” it added.

“Finally, we inform the public that all communications from our office and personnel shall only be done through official channels,” the advisory read.
