British ‘crime group leader nabbed in Makati

A BRITISH national and alleged leader of a criminal group reportedly involved in gunrunning, kidnapping, extortion and sale of illegal drugs was arrested by authorities Wednesday before dawn in Makati City.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Southern Police District (CIDG-SPD), Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit (SMMDFU), NCR Regional Intelligence Unit and Makati Police Sub-Station 6 arrested Darren Wall, 44, an alleged leader of DM Wall Criminal Group operating in Southern part of Metro Manila and his alleged member, Khanary Abejo Wall, 24, both residents of Block 2 Lot 2 Betterliving Subdivision, Barangay Don Bosco, Paranaque City, in a raid at the Secret Door Club located at the corner of Dona Carmen and Kalayaan Avenues, Brgy. Poblacion at around 2:50 a.m.

The operation, according to the report submitted to the office of SPD Director P/BGen. Jimili Macaraeg, stemmed from the complaint of a certain John Santos, who was allegedly mauled by Darren Wall while armed with handgun inside the latter’s establishment.

The report indicated that during the search which was incidental to lawful arrest, operatives recovered from the suspects several heat sealed small plastic sachets containing suspected cocaine weighing P56,000 and the suspect’s 9mm pistol with magazine loaded with 11 pieces of live ammunition.

Macaraeg said the arrested suspects are now under the custody of SPD-CIDG pending the filing of cases for violation of R.A 10591 (An Act Providing for a Comprehensive Law On Firearms And Ammunition) in relation to Comelec Resolution 10728 (Gun Ban), RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act), Article 151 of Revised Penal Code (Disobedience To Person in Authourity) and Article 358 or Slander and Oral defamation before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
