BPPO launches revitalized ‘Kasimbayanan’

CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – The Batangas police are supporting the government’s goal of providing a good future for Filipinos and achieving prosperity.

Together with the entire Philippine National Police (PNP), the authorities recognize the vital role and influence of the church and community in creating and promoting community values.

The Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO), under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge (OIC) P/Col. Pedro D. Soliba, launched the “Revitalized PNP Kasimbayanan” (Police, Church, and Community) Thursday, Oct. 13, at Camp General Miguel C Malvar, Batangas City.

The launch was attended by 160 people, including the police and representatives of religious sectors.

The PNP Kasimbayanan is a community mobilization program that emphasizes the collective cooperation of the PNP with the general public and the religious sector or the church that is committed to a “realistic or holistic change towards development.”

Bishop Vincent V. Vicencio, president of Christian Coalition Catalyst, stood as the guest of honor, where he expressed in his message and promised that the church will be an effective instrument and partner of the police in implementing “Kasimbayanan”.

He said this is one of the keys to what the church leaders have been praying for a long time – to have a national and spiritual transformation in our country.

He also stated that the purpose of the Kasimbayanan is to make the various communities aware that the PNP and the people they serve play an important role in achieving peace, order, development, and change in the community.

Bishop Onofre Layug and Bishop Paulo Montano of the National Core Team, Christian Coalition Movement were also among those who conveyed messages and support to the program; Rev. Fr. Gerald Macalinao, BPPO Priest; Pastor Edgardo C. Dela Peña-Provincial Values Coach Coordinator; Ustadz Zacaria Tandug, Imam-Muslim Community; Abigail N. Andres, DILG Provincial Director; Wilfredo M Maliksi, Provincial ABC President; and Archie P. Catapang-Provincial KKDAT president.

The program also carried out the “Pledge of Commitment” under Soliba, together with the church and community leaders and representatives, including the ABC presidents of the cities and municipalities of Batangas.
