BJMP, BFPO to join BIDA fun run

THE Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will participate in the “fun run” initiated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as part of the campaign against illegal drugs under the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) program.

According to BJMP Officer-in-Charge Chief Supt. Ruel Rivera, at least 700 personnel and officers have already expressed their commitment to join the event.

For its part, the BFP according to Deputy Chief for Administration (DCA) Chief Supt. Jesus Fernandez, some 2,000 firefighters have also promised to join the cause.

The fun run will be held on February 26 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) grounds where thousands are expected to attend. The fun run also cater public service through the Serbisyo Caravan where at least 10 government agencies are offering free services.

DILG Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. said that these activities are expected to gather 10,000 bodies from different sectors of the society who will run a three-kilometer distance to show support for the government’s campaign against the menace.
