Bicol’s no. 6 MWP falls in Indang

IMUS CITY, Cavite – A rank no. 6 “most wanted person” (MWP) in the Bicol region was wounded after fighting with operatives serving his arrest warrant, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in Barangay Kayquit 3, Indang, Cavite

The PRO5’s (Police Regional Office 5) top 6 MWP, a native of Masbate residing in Indang, is being observed in the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds.

According to P/Major. Edward Cantano, chief of police of Indang Cavite, the Masbate Police Provincial Office led by P/Lt. Ma. Dolores Abenia coordinated with them to arrest the suspect.

At 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the authorities launched an operation to serve the warrant of arrest for two counts of murder against the MWP.

Together with the Indang Warrant Section and Intelligence Operatives team, they went to the suspect’s hiding place, but while they were serving the warrant, he immediately pulled out a gun and opened fire on the operatives.

The suspect led a brief chase and exchanged gunshots until he was hit in the leg, hand, and buttock and was immediately arrested.

A cal .38 revolver and ammunition were recovered from the suspect.

The suspect is currently under hospital arrest, according to the local police.
