THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced the arrest of an American pedophile wanted in the US for child molestation.

In a statement, Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the fugitive as 49-year-old Bradley John Moore, who was arrested Thursday in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, by operatives from the bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU).

The arresting agents were armed with a mission order from Morente, who issued the same upon receiving information of his crimes from US authorities in Manila.

“We will send him back to the US immediately for him to face his crimes, after which he will be placed on our blacklist and banned from re-entering the country,” Morente said.

The BI chief described Moore as an undesirable alien whose continued presence poses a serious threat to Filipino children.

According to BI-FSU Acting Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, Moore is already an “overstaying” alien as records showed that he last arrived in Manila on Dec. 6, 2020, and did not depart since then.

Likewise, his passport has been canceled already by the US government, making him an undocumented alien.

Sy said Moore is wanted to stand trial before a district court in McKinney, Texas, which issued warrants for his arrest.

He was allegedly charged before the said court with aggravated sexual assault of a child and three counts of indecency and having sexual contact with a child.

Moore is temporarily detained at the Dapitan City Police Station before his eventual transfer to the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, where he will remain while undergoing deportation proceedings. By Jun I. Legaspi
