THERE should never be any doubt about the historic and record-breaking win of presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. in the last elections.

Aside from practically dominating in all regions and voting classes he also posted landslide victories among overseas Filipino voters.

Reports from several Philippine diplomatic posts and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Transparency Media server showed Marcos had received a total of 330,231 votes which were way beyond the 89,624 garnered by his nearest rival, according to the May 11, 2022 data from the Comelec.

In the Asia Pacific cluster, which included China, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan, Marcos received 159,186 votes against his nearest rival, Leni Robredo, who only got 35,862 votes.

Singapore gave Marcos the most considerable number of votes in the cluster as he raked in 36,806 votes against Robredo’s 12,283.

This was followed by Japan, where Marcos got 25,410, and Taiwan, where he obtained 23,906 votes.

Marcos’ dominance in the overseas polls continues in the Middle East and Africa cluster, composed of Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

The presumptive President was able to get 111,025 votes, while Robredo only got 19,856.

In Saudi Arabia, where there is a 98% voter turnout, Marcos obtained 46,748 votes compared to Robredo’s 8,582.

Marcos was also able to maintain his foothold in the Americas and Europe clusters, where he got 28,623, and 31,397, respectively.

According to the partial and unofficial results, as of May 13, 2022, Marcos is still leading the presidential race with 31,104,175 votes against his closest rival’s 14,822,051 votes. By Ryan Ponce Pacpaco
