THE camp of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. on Wednesday thanked their supporters led by Malayang Quezon City mayoralty aspirant Mike Defensor for giving their overwhelming support during the UniTeam’s first grand unity caravan in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ chief-of-staff and spokesperson, expressed gratitude also to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte for ensuring the safety of all people who participated in the caravan attended by Marcos and vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

“Muli, ang pasasalamat ng BBM-Sara UniTeam sa lahat ng kanilang taga-suporta, partikular sa Malayang QC Team nina Mike Defensor, na gumugol ng panahon at sariling resources upang maisabuhay ang inaasam ng tambalang Marcos-Duterte na pagbubuklod ng sambayanan na sinimulan na sa maraming lugar sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng Unity Caravan, na ngayon nga ay isinagawa sa Lungsod Quezon,” Rodriguez said.

Defensor’s running mate Councilor Winnie Castelo, Quezon City Reps. Precious Castelo and Onyx Crisologo, former Quezon City Rep. Bingbong Crisologo and others joined the caravan.

Wearing red and green shirts, tens of thousands of Marcos and Duterte’s supporters filled the stretch of Commonwealth and other major streets during the leading duo’s first grand unity caravan.

“Nagpapasalamat ang BBM-Sara Uniteam sa mga tulong na inihanda ng pamahalaang lungsod sa pamumuno ni Mayor Joy Belmonte para sa okasyon na ginanap ngayong araw (Miyerkules). At nagpupugay ang tambalang Bongbong Marcos at Sara Duterte sa pakikiisa ng lahat na taga-lungsod Quezon, maging anoman ang kanilang paniniwalang pulitikal, sa nasabing pagtitipon,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez also apologized for the heavy traffic that the caravan caused to public after the event generated a very huge crowd and exceeded their expectations.

“Humihingi na rin ng paumanhin at pang-unawa ang BBM-Sara UniTeam sa mga motorista, byahero, pamahalaang lungsod at maging sa MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority) kung ang nasabing Unity Caravan ay nagdulot ng pagsikip sa daloy ng trapiko,” Rodriguez said.

“Hindi po kasi inaasahan ng mga naghanda sa nasabing okasyon na ma-OVERWHELM pa rin ang kanilang masinop at malawak na preparasyon sa dagsa ng mga taga-suporta nina Bongbong at Sara na sabik na makiisa at makita ang kanilang mga kandidato sa pagka-presidente at bise-presidente,” Rodriguez said.
