THE camp of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. on Tuesday urged the group behind the filing of disqualification cases before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) against the presidential aspirant to respect the people’s will to decide for their future.

Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ chief-of-staff and spokesperson, reiterated that all disqualification cases against the Marcos are baseless and unfounded.

“And while we maintain that these petitions are nothing but nuisance cases, we urge those who are behind these pathetic stunts to please respect the Filipino people and their democratic right to decide for themselves and their collective future,” Rodriguez said in a press statement sent to the media.

“We also urge them not to remove the right of the people to freely choose their leader and stop looking down on the intelligence of the Filipino people. Elections are won and settled on election day and not through the filing of nuisance petitions,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez also said that the legal team of Marcos has been working very hard to ensure that all disqualification cases are dismissed.

“All the petitions filed with the Comelec, which seek to disqualify Bongbong Marcos from the presidential race, or cancel his Certificate of Candidacy, are now being addressed by our legal team,” Rodriguez added.
