BATANGAS — Members of the Batangas PNP have started preparing evacuation centers for local residents affected by the Taal Volcano eruption.

Following the eruption, the Batangas Police Provincial Office under the leadership of PCol. Glicerio C. Cansilao and under the supervision of PRO CALABARZON Regional Director PBGEN Antonio C. Yarra immediately helped affected residents and prepared centers where they can be relocated.

Seventy three famikies Barangays Buso-Buso, Gulod, and Bugaan in Laurel were evacuated due to the rain of mud as a result of the eruption.

At total of 231 families in Bgys. Banyaga and Bilibinwang in Agoncillo are currently staying in six elementary school evacuation centers.

Other towns in Batangas had no reported evacuees.

The Batangas PPO is in full swing of preparations for the incident. These include declaring full alert status, assigning security personnel to evacuation centers, conducting route security, and activating the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF).

“Everyone, especially those in the immediate danger zone of the volcano is reminded to be vigilant and follow the notice of the authorities. The safety of all is our desire so we must continue to pray and be careful,” said Cansilao.
