BATANGAS CITY – At least five seawalls and flood control projects were already completed in 2022 in Barangays Talahib Pandayan, Dela Paz Pulot Aplaya, San Agapito, and Liponpon, Isla Verde in Batangas, according to the report of the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) here Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

The provincial CEO oversees drainage canals’ construction, repair, and maintenance to ensure continuous water flow and prevent flooding.

This includes the cleaning of the canal in Bgys. Bolbok and Poblacion 11 and renovating the street and canal in New Market.

The Engineer’s Office also reported the quick road and clearing operation and damage assessment caused by Typhoon “Paeng”.

They also immediately conducted an ocular inspection and reported on Bgy. Wawa’s burned area in January of last year.

Under Executive Order (EO) No. 24 by Mayor Beverley Dimacuha, the CEO was able to collaborate with private utility companies in the bundling of electric cables, telecommunications, and others along the main streets in the city along P. Zamora, Rizal Avenue, and M. H. Del Pilar.

The cables that are no longer in use have also been removed for a clean and neat look and to prevent accidents that they could cause.
